WESTSIDE RISING serves as a multi-issue, grassroots hub for social justice, community organizing, and civic engagement that educates, trains, and activates youth, residents, and community organizations to build power and advocate for systemic change.
Our work is important because Westside Rising provides residents, leaders and youth with the tools needed to build power and work toward systemic change for themselves and their communities.
A cohort-based initiative for Intergenerational Organizing and issue-based leadership development and base-building. Residents, organizational leaders, and stakeholders are prepared as trained and informed leaders at the grassroots level. This supports the Activation hubs for community organizing efforts.
Moving directly impacted residents, leaders, and stakeholders to take action. The hub provides political and issue education, strategy development, mobilization, and activation at the grassroots level for pressing West Side issues and community organizing campaigns.
Trains and engages emerging adults (17 – 26 years old) in community organizing, civics, and life skills development through Summer and Year-round programming.
Mobilizes residents through outreach and participatory research—amplifying community power in civic and electoral decision-making across the West Side.
